A UAFS program that educates Fort Smith high school students in robot automation and cyber systems is moving, and next year the courses will be taught on-site at ABB and ArcBest.
A generous heart, a modest lifestyle and a storybook romance led to a $100,000 donation to the University of Arkansas Fort Smith to help working students.
A week of homecoming festivities at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith culminated in the crowning of students Steven Stone of Lamar and Ashley Anderson of Rogers as 2018 Homecoming King and Queen.
Tradition is important to Kaley Underwood. It’s part of the reason she decided to attend the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, following in the footsteps of her father and aunt, both of whom attended the university when it was Westark Community College. But Underwood isn’t only continuing traditions in her own family. She’s also helping continue traditions at UAFS by serving as the director of Cub Camp for 2018, a three-day camp for incoming UAFS freshmen hosted by upperclassmen that helps ease the transition from high school to college.

Twenty-Eight Area Youth to be Princesses/Princes at Miss UAFS
Twenty-eight local children will participate in the Miss UAFS Scholarship Pageant Feb. 24 through the Princess/Prince Program, a non-competitive program allowing children ages 5-10 to take part in pageant festivities.

The title of Miss UAFS 2018 will be up for grabs this month when 13 University of Arkansas – Fort Smith students compete in the university’s annual scholarship pageant held at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at the ArcBest Performing Arts Center, located at 55 S. 7th St.
Theatre @ UAFS to Perform “Under Milk Wood” in February
Theatre @ UAFS will perform Dylan Thomas’s play “Under Milk Wood” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15-17 and 19-20 in the Breedlove Auditorium on the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith campus as part of the Season of Entertainment 37.
UAFS to Hold Commercial Drone Course in February
The Center for Business and Professional Development at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will host a three-week test preparation course for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Part 107 test to become a commercial operator of unmanned aerial aircraft, more commonly known as drones.
