Jumpstart Your Spring Semester with National Service

Are you looking for a place to belong? Would you like to serve the children of our community in person during this unique time in history? Becoming a Jumpstart AmeriCorps member might be just the thing to help you be the greater good!

Jumpstart is looking for members to serve in local preschool classrooms with young children throughout the spring semester. Members work to enhance children's language, literacy, and social-emotional skills through the use of the Jumpstart curriculum while serving with a team of four to six of their peers. Do you have a couple of days a week you could commit to service? We have openings on our Tuesday and Thursday teams and our Monday and Wednesday teams.

Those who choose to join Jumpstart commit to 300 hours of service by the end of May. Participants will receive a monthly living allowance of $100 per month, and individuals who complete 300 hours of service within the program year may be eligible for a Segal Educational Award valued at $1,311 to use toward future college expenses.

The program is open to students from all majors as well as community members. Previous teaching experience is not required. Must be 18 to apply. Email kimberly.taylor@uafs.edu for more information.
