UAFS Chancellor Announces Protect The Pride Plan
Monday, July 20, 2020, University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Chancellor Terisa Riley released the Protecting the Pride:  Returning to UAFS in Fall 2020 plan in a campus-wide email. The document announces expectations for fall operations on the UAFS campus as well as answers to questions from students, faculty and staff about the fall semester. 
UA System Directs Campuses to Require Face Coverings When Distancing is not Possible
The University of Arkansas Systen Board of Trustees approved a resolution July 15 directing each campus, division and unit to adopt a policy that, at a minimum, requires the use of cloth face coverings by students, faculty, staff and guests in university facilities where physical distancing of six-feet or more cannot be assured in accordance with guidance from state and federal health officials.

UAFS Welcomes Chartwells as New Food Service Provider
The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith has chosen Chartwells Higher Education as its new dining service provider. Chartwells plans to transform the on-campus dining experience at UAFS to create a premier food service program that emphasizes quality, made-to-order food, menu customization, variety, ethically-sourced foods, and excellent value, to foster student success and education. Chartwells will operate under the “UAFS Eats” name to align with the university’s mission and brand.
UAFS Campus Named Groundwater Guardian Green Site
The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith was recently named a 2020 Groundwater Guardian Green Site by the Groundwater Foundation for utilizing groundwater-friendly practices and practicing environmental stewardship. UAFS is currently the only location in Arkansas to hold this designation.
Academic Excellence Award Winners Announced
Top students from 42 academic programs at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith were given accolades for their work, earning Academic Excellence Awards from the university.
