UAFS Campus Named Groundwater Guardian Green Site
The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith was recently named a 2020 Groundwater Guardian Green Site by the Groundwater Foundation for utilizing groundwater-friendly practices and practicing environmental stewardship. UAFS is currently the only location in Arkansas to hold this designation.

UAFS Earns $678,461 Grant to Complete Wilhauf Restoration
The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith received a $678,461 grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council (ANCRC) to fund Phase V of the Drennen-Scott House project, specifically the restoration of the adjacent Wilhauf House.

Karen Jeffers to return to UAFS as Financial Aid Director
The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith announced today that long-time financial aid professional Karen Jeffers will oversee the Department of Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits at UAFS. Jeffers will lead a staff of nine financial aid professionals serving nearly 6,500 students. Each year the UAFS Department of Financial Aid administers more than $53 million in financial aid and scholarships to UAFS students while ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines.
