UAFS Celebrates First Gen Students
Today, Nov. 9, 2020, the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith joins hundreds of universities across the nation to celebrate first-generation college students in celebration of National First-Generation College Student Celebration Day. On the UAFS campus, nearly half of all students will be the first in their families to earn a college degree.
UAFS Drone Program Recognized by FAA's Collegiate Training Initiative

UAFS Foundation Scholarship Portal Launches
The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Foundation’s scholarship portal Lions SHARE is now open for applications by UAFS students. The Scholarship Hub And Resource Engine connects UAFS students to scholarships made possible by private donors’ generous support. This one-stop online application gives current and prospective students another resource to help pay for college and makes accessing those scholarships seamless and straightforward. 
UAFS Admissions Takes Den Day Digital
Prospective students will join the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Office of Admissions next week for a virtual Den Day event. The half-day exploration event typically welcomes high school juniors from across the River Valley to campus for tours, information sessions, mock classes, discussions with college deans, and a lunch and involvement fair on the campus green. This year, however, Den Day will be offered virtually in an effort to keep students safe and involved more potential UAFS students in the events.
Culture Network to Host Candlelit Vigil for Breonna Taylor and Lives Lost to Injustice
The Culture Network at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will host a candlelight vigil at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, honoring the life of Breonna Taylor and mourning the loss of every person who has lost their life at the hands of injustice and brutality.
UAFS Family Weekend Slated for Oct. 30-31
The annual Family Weekend at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will take place this year Oct. 30-31, featuring a variety of virtual and in-person events to encourage pride throughout the community and engage students and their families in campus traditions.
