A conference of the Mid-South Inorganic Chemists Association will be held on the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith campus at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 3 in the Math-Science Building.
The conference will feature professor-led presentations from faculty members at universities including the University of Central Arkansas, Arkansas State University and the University of Kansas. The conference is free and open to the public.
Dr. Dave McGinnis, assistant professor of chemistry, said he is excited to participate in the conference.
“As instructors at UAFS, we strive to prepare students to be successful in the ever-changing global workplace,” McGinnis said. “This conference will provide attendees with knowledge of chemical research that is taking place at some of the universities in our region. We are thrilled to host the conference this October.”
MICA was formed in 2002 to bring together inorganic chemists of the mid-south, in order to enhance teaching and research capabilities through discussions and interactions between chemists with similar interests.
