Colaninno to Present on St. Catherines Island

Carol ColaninnoArchaic shell rings found on St. Catherines Island will be the topic of discussion during a presentation at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 in room 204 of the Math-Science Building on the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith campus.


Dr. Carol Colaninno, an archeologist for the Arkansas Archeological Survey and a Station Archeologist at Southern Arkansas University, will present new information on fisher-folk of the archeological sites located on St. Catherines Island off the coast of Georgia.


The presentation is part of the monthly meeting for the Ark-Homa Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society and the Oklahoma Anthropological Society, and it is free and open to the public.
