Employees at UAFS Recognized Feb. 25 for Years of Service

Award ReceipentsThe University of Arkansas – Fort Smith honored 44 employees at a bi-annual staff meeting Feb. 25 for their years of service at UAFS, including three employees honored for working with the university for more than 30 years.

 

Cheryl Quinley of Poteau, Okla., general ledger and fixed assets manager in the Financial Services Office; and Louis Whorton of Alma, head coach of the women’s basketball team, were recognized for 30 years of employment with the university. Stacey Jones of Fort Smith, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, was recognized for 40 years of service to the university.

  • Jessica Hill of Van Buren, fiscal support supervisor in the Financial Services Office.

  • Donna Moore of Lavaca, administrative specialist in the Advisement Office.

20 Years of Service:

 

  • Carolyn Hankins of Fort Smith, assistant to the Chancellor.
  • Mary Pat Engel of Fort Smith, support specialist in the Technology Services Office.
  • Rhonda Moody of Spiro, Okla., procurement specialist in the Technology Services Office.
  • Paula Teague of Alma, administrative assistant in the College of Business.
  • Melissa Brown of Van Buren, travel services coordinator in the Financial Services Office.
  • Krystal Brasher of Alma, accounts payable and travel services manager in the Financial Services Office.
  • Julie Bryant of Greenwood, director of payroll and accounting services in the Financial Services Office.

 

Employees having served for five years received an engraved paperweight, 10 years received an art glass paperweight, 15 years received a UAFS pen and pencil set, 20 years received a personalized zenith acrylic, 30 years received a lion statue with a personalized engraved plaque, and 40 years received a framed Bell Tower painting.

 

The 44 employees represent a combined 485 years of employment with the university.
