On a winter day in 1956, musical icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins gathered for a recording session in Memphis in what was a monumental night of rock ‘n’ roll occurring for the first and only time. On Feb. 25, that night will be recreated by the national touring show “Million Dollar Quartet” during a performance at 7:30 p.m. at the ArcBest Corp. Performing Arts Center as part of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s Season of Entertainment 35.

The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith will host a blood drive from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 26-27 in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, with donors receiving a T-shirt and a chance to win a seven-night Caribbean cruise for two. The blood drive is sponsored by the UAFS Student Activities Office and is free and open to the public. Appointments for the blood drive may be made by calling 479-788-7697 or by emailing studentactivities@uafs.edu. Walk-ins are also welcome.
