The Student Activities Office at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is celebrating Blood Donor Appreciation Month with a beach-themed blood drive on Jan. 29 and 30.
The blood drive is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days in the Reynolds Room of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center.
Stephanie London of Fort Smith, student activities event coordinator, said drawings for prizes will take place both days.
“Donors will have the opportunity to relax in our beach-themed ‘Donor Den’ while they are waiting to give blood, to include free mocktails,” London said. “All donors will also receive their choice of a free Arkansas Blood Institute baseball cap or T-shirt and be entered into a door prize drawing.”
Drives were held in August and November at UAFS with 535 people registered and 450 people able to give blood.
Appointments for the blood drive may be made starting Jan. 22 by signing up at a table in the Campus Center hallway 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Walk-ins are also welcome. For more information or to make an appointment, contact London by telephone at 479-788-7697 or by email at email@example.com.
