Adults thinking about returning to college to finish their degrees -- or considering college for the first time -- can get some tips in a March 28 meeting at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.
College Preview Night will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the Latture Conference Center in the Business and Industrial Institute, N. 50th and Grand Ave. The preview will offer information on all aspects of attending UAFS and provide numerous resources with the help of the Non-Traditional Student Office, according to Laura Freeman of Greenwood, admissions officer.
“We will have UAFS speakers from Financial Aid, Student Advising, the Academic Success Center and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Services,” Freeman said. “The purpose of the event is to get prospective non-traditional students familiar with the staff, help them make a connection in their process of entering college and ensure they will have a great experience.”
Activities also include a student panel consisting of current non-traditional students, with the panel members answering questions from those attending the event.
Non-traditional student volunteers will help emcee, check in and seat prospective students and guests, as well as hand out information folders.
