The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith has planned an event Nov. 28 just for adults who want to know how to return to college to finish their degrees or how to begin college for the first time.
College Preview Night will be held 6-8 p.m. in the Weidman Center, room 133 of the Pendergraft Health Sciences Center. The preview will offer information on all aspects of attending UAFS and provide numerous resources with the help of the Non-Traditional Student Office, according to Laura Freeman of Greenwood, admissions officer.
“Check-in will be held just outside the Weidman Center, where tables will be set up,” Freeman said. “We will have UAFS speakers from Financial Aid, Student Advising, the Academic Success Center and ADA services.”
Freeman said the purpose of the event is to get prospective non-traditional students familiar with the staff, help them make a connection in their process of entering college and ensure they will have a great experience.
“We will also have a student panel consisting of current non-traditional students who will be able to answer questions,” said Freeman.
Non-traditional student volunteers will help emcee and check in and seat prospective students and guests, as well as hand out information folders.
