Dr. Kerrie Taber is an Assistant Professor in the Bachelor of Applied Science program at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. Taber started her career in Austin, Texas at Applied Materials, who manufactures capital semi-conductor equipment.  During her time at Applied Materials, Taber worked on various project that involved working on global virtual teams.  One of the things she was asked to do was to help resolve conflicts on project teams that were struggling to work through the conflicts that were threatening to kill the project.


This interest in conflict and communication led her to her Doctorate dissertation topic, which was to look at how conflict differs between virtual and face-to-face project teams.  During her work on her dissertation, Taber did extensive research into communication, virtual communication, and the different forms of conflict. Taber has used this knowledge to give talks to corporations and to help students learn how to become more effective team members by learning how to communicate and manage conflicts.


Taber holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo, a MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
