Dr. Latisha Settlage

Dr. Latisha Settlage is Associate Professor of Economics at UAFS and currently serves as chair for the department of accounting, economic, and finance. Dr. Settlage joined the faculty at UAFS in 2003. She teaches courses in macro- and microeconomics as well as banking and finance. She is an expert on the banking industry as well as the region’s changing economy.
Dr. Settlage received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and her Ph.D. from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Settlage has made numerous presentations and published research articles on topics related to bank failure, government-sponsored credit programs, economic impact analysis, as well as teaching pedagogy.
Dr. Settlage was recognized as the 2013 Lucille Speakman Master Teacher on campus and has won multiple campus and state awards for her service as former faculty advisor of Phi Beta Lambda.
